Pastor to Pastor
(Free, Practical, Time-Saving, and Easy to Use resources for local church leaders)
Dear Pastor/Leader,
We may not have met, but we are all walking through the same season in the life of our world and the church. I have been a local church pastor for over thirty-years and I have never experienced a time when communication from a pastor to the congregation (and church leaders) has been more important. Things are changing rapidly and the need for consistent, clear, calm, and faith-inspiring communication is huge. So, I am offering some easy to use and adaptable weekly communication resources that I hope are helpful for you as you serve the people of Jesus.
I am writing a letter to my whole congregation, to my staff, and to my board every week. You will find these letters and all the other resources (updated weekly) below. In each case, I am including the exact letter I sent, but my team (Ben Spangler and Donna Brown) have also added a stripped-down version that you can edit easily and use as you communicate with your congregation. Please edit and shape each letter in a way that fits your congregation and your personal style of communication. My hope is that this saves you a lot of time as you serve God’s people.
We have also added any other documents, tools, and resources we have developed. For instance, we have a five-step plan for dealing with potential financial challenges in the weeks ahead. We have created tool with four key areas to focus as a church during times of hardship and turmoil. We have also written a letter sharing the financial realities the church is facing and invited people to pray and give (this was sent only to a group of people in the church who are faithful and consistent in giving).
We hope and pray these tools and resources save you hours of time and help you serve the church well in the weeks to come.
In joy, Kevin Harney, Ben Spangler, and Donna Brown
